We all had a great time at Camp and we are in agreement that it is the best camp we have had yet. It is a great atmosphere and the surrounding areas are magnificent. We did various bush walks and ended up swimming in the Makaroroa River. The facility itself is really well organized and the activities there such as the bungy jump, confidence course and the cricket set were great. Everyone wants to come back again, so we will probably plan another camp for next year. Thank you for letting us use such a great facility.

We have had a fantastic week with only a small amount of rain. We all made it up to Sunrise Hut. What an Achievement! We had some very proud children. Great facilities and a good time had by all.

Over three hundred people enjoyed camping at Camp Wakarara, in groups over the months of October and November.
Highlights were the camp facilities, being able to accommodate 100 people at a time, in tents and dormitories. We enjoyed cooking on the open fire BBQs, both in fine weather - and during inclement weather - because of the wonderful set up under shelter. Cooking our own meals over open fire and on hobo stoves provided was a first for most.
We thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of the Confidence and Commando Courses, as well as your compass activities, on-site geo cache, horizontal bungy and pitching all of the tents you provide.
Great activities close by were a thrill for all - Onga Onga and Waipawa Museums, staying the night at Triplex Hut, traversing the swamp, bush, stream and river studies and the highlight of it all - reaching Sunrise Hut in the snow.
Thanks for everything you provide Camp Wakarara - it is very reasonably priced Outdoor Education at it's best. We've already booked again for next year! We'll be back.
